This session looked at the automation the team at RSA / Archer created to test their web application using HTML and Silverlight, available in German, French, Spanish, English, and Japanese. Along the way Dana discussed the following issues:

  • Extending ANSI versus Unicode character sets
  • Building a translation library
  • How to make sure your text doesn’t over-run your available space
  • How to insure consistency in the translations
  • How to test an application in a language you don’t speak or read
  • Special considerations

This session was designed to help QA Managers and Automation Developers prepare for the eventuality of testing in multiple languages. This information applied to any automation tool.

Thank you Dana for your time!

Annual Quality Recognition Awards Banquet

KCQAA recently held their annual Quality Recognition Awards honoring outstanding accomplishments of its members.  Here are this year's winners.

  • Best Presentation at KCQAA Business Meeting: Rob Edwards received this award for his "Tips of Automation" presentation.  The award is given based on the audience evaluation surveys throughout the year.
  • Outstanding Quality Achievement by a Member Organization:  Assurant Employee Benefits won this award recognizing significant improvements made to I/T's testing processes, quality metrics program and overall quality structure.
  • Outstanding Quality Achievement by an Individual Member: Jason Verhulst received this award for his efforts with standardizing the test management approach in Quality Center and making new strides in dashboard reporting, revealing areas in need of further improvements.
"The Outstanding Quality Achievement by a Member Organization Award is the result of the hard work everyone has done to improve I/T quality," says Jeff Shaw, 2nd V.P., Application Development. "While quality improvement is a never-ending journey and we have much to do, it's nice to be recognized for how far we've come."

 Congratulations to all the winners!
